If you have forgotten your username or password; start at the Audiogon homepage and scroll down to the bottom left where you click on the "Help" link. Then you select the link "Lost Password" and follow the listed directions. For further help, email us.

What if I never received a confirmation email?

When you first register a Username, the system sent you an email to validate your address. This email contains a link that proves to our system that you received the reference email. 

If you do not receive the confirmation email within 24 hours of having registered, then you should contact us with the following information:

Email us the above information and we will send another confirmation email to you. It is critical that the system be able to email you, so we must receive the link proof before activating your account.



How do I register?

To sign up or "Register" with Audiogon, you need a valid email address that can be confirmed by our system. First, you choose a Username for your personalized identity at Audiogon. Next,you choose a Password, which along with your Username allows you access to begin transacting at Audiogon.

Please NOTE that if you buy and sell occasionally you may register as a "Private Users". Those who buy and sell for profit, or in high volume are considered "Commercial User Registration". You must declare which type of user best fits your activities. Please start here:

After you choose a Username and Password, the system will send you a confirmation email to verify your email address is correct. That confirmation email will have a special link you follow, thus communicating to our system that you received this specific email.

After you have completed this step above your account will be active and ready for use within 2-3 hours.



How do I cancel my account?

Account cancellation can be performed only by Audiogon Staff. 
Generally speaking, Usernames are permanent and unique so as to prevent confusion. Even if you will not be using Audiogon for a while, it is worth keeping the Username so that your history and Dashboard await your return. 

If you need to Cancel your account, contact us from your registered email address. For authentication purposes, it is important that you send your email from the exact address you have registered with us. 

To request cancellation of your account, send us:

Email us the above info from your registered address. Audiogon staff may confirm via phone, for the protection of member accounts. Please note that upon cancellation of an account, the account is rendered inactive. Audiogon maintains a permanent record of all accounts.



How do I change my password?

You can change your password, or any other registration information by logging into your Dashboard and selecting "Password" under My Account. You will need your current password for validation. If you change your password, you will receive an email with your new password in it for safe storage. If you change your email address, you will also need to confirm to the system that you can receive emails there. Instructions will be provided during each of these steps.



How do I change my shipping address?

You can change your Shipping Address by logging into your Dashboard and selecting "Shipping Address" under My Account. Edit your Shipping Address then type in your Password and click the link "Submit Changes".



How do I change my username?

Currently, usernames are permanent and cannot be changed. We hope to have the software in place in the future so that this can be performed. The only avenue you could choose is to have us remove your current registration (once all ads have been removed and the balance settled, if applicable) and then re-register selecting the username you would prefer. Please keep in mind that nothing from your old registration can be transferred over, e.g. feedbacks, etc.



Can I have more than one username?

No. In order to provide an honest trading environment, each registration must be only one person. Multiple registrations open the door for "shill" bidding and "false" feedback.



Is it possible to be registered Commercial for one account and Private for another?

No. You either meet the criteria for one or the other. Commercial registrations identify you as an Industry Insider. As such you are held to a higher standard of deportment at Audiogon. Consequently, your items can typically be sold with warranty and the general enhancement that you are a person of known integrity.



Who may register:

In order to register, you must meet all of the following criteria:
 
-You are at least 18 years of age.

-You are able and willing to comply with all the rules of the Audiogon.

-You are an individual or a company interested in High-end audio equipment.

-You are not a "spammer" - a sender of unwanted email.

-You are a private party that will be using our site for non-profit activities.

-Dealers, Manufacturers, and resellers please contact marketing@audiogon.com.



We may classify you as a Commercial user if:


- You sell a lot more items than you buy through Audiogon, even if not as a business.

- You advertise for sale "new" or "demo" items, even if not as a business entity.

- You post large quantities of listings, even if they are repetitive of the same items.

- You qualify as an “Industry Insider”, such as a Manufacturer, Dealer, Distributor, 
Independent Representative, Reviewer, Product   Engineer or Designer.
 
 

 

Why was my registration cancelled?

Each user may register ONE account (Username) at Audiogon, and thus any additional accounts will be cancelled when noticed by our staff. If you have previously registered with Audiogon, then you must use that account. This policy is designed to prevent a multiple account user from initiating false bidding or false feedback. 

If you do not remember your previous Username or Password, you may have the system send a reminder to the initial email address you registered.
