How Are Transaction Fees Billed?

We refer to "Transaction Fees" as money that gets deducted from your payout. This is different from the insertion fee you may pay to list an item.

Audiogon only charges Transaction Fees on Pay Later listings once the item is sold. Pay Now listings never incur Transaction Fees.

When you choose a Pay Later Listing the transaction fee amount is clearly stated so you know exactly what the amount will be before listing. 

As of 5/30/2024, all Transaction Fees are deducted automatically from your payout. These fees are noted as an Application Fee on Stripe or Partner Fee on PayPal.

Buyer Pays Via Express Checkout (Stripe)

Transaction Fees are automatically deducted when a Buyer completes their purchase through Express Checkout.

Buyer Pays Via Affirm (Stripe)

Transaction Fees are automatically deducted when a Buyer completes their purchase through Express Checkout.

Buyer Pays Via PayPal

Transaction Fees are automatically deducted when a Buyer completes their purchase through PayPal—whether they enter a credit card directly or login to their account and pay from one of their wallet sources.

Using Account Credit to Pay Transaction Fees

Since transaction fees are taken out at time of payout, there will rarely be a time where you will need to manually pay them. However, in the case that some type of compliance skirting, buyer backout, etc. issue results in Transaction Fees being assessed to your account, you will have 48 hours before we charge your card on file. In that time, you are able to choose the payment method you want to use: Default Credit Card, A Credit Card Other Than The Default Card, PayPal, and Audiogon Account Credit.

In order to use your Audiogon Account Credits to pay the fee, your Transaction Fee must be the same as your Account Credit or less. There are no split payment options.

Example

You have a credit of $50.00 but the Fee in your cart is $55.00. You will not be able to select Account Credits as your payment method. 

Fees Associated with Payment Methods

There may be separate fees deducted from your payout depending on what payment method you accept on your listing. These percentages are determined by the payment processor, and are not considered Audiogon Transaction Fees.
