Seller Offers allow sellers to reach buyers who have already shown interest in their listing by offering a private discount to expedite a sale or jumpstart negotiations.
About Seller Offers
Seller Offers operate just like having Accept Offers enabled on a listing and allowing buyers to send an offer.
- Seller Offers are sent to Potential Buyers—buyers who have watched a listing for more than 48 hours.
- Buyers get 48 hours to respond (accept, counter, or decline) before it expires.
- Once any buyer accepts the offer, it is no longer available to any other buyer.
- e.g. Seller sends an offer. While Buyer A sends a counteroffer and waits for the seller to accept, a Buyer B accepts the offer. The seller would no longer be able to accept Buyer A's counteroffer, and would sell the item to Buyer B.
Eligibility
The following rules apply to Seller Offers. This is intended to make Seller Offers enticing and limit the amount of notifications buyers receive.
- Listing must have Accept Offers enabled.
- Sellers can only create one offer per listing.
- Listing must have been watched for at least 2 days to send an offer.
- Offers must meet a minimum threshold:
- 5% less than the Buy It Now price for items under $200
- 3% for items between $200 and $1,000
- 2% for items over $1,000
- Shipping is not included in the offer price.

How To Create Seller Offers
Once you click on Create Seller Offer, you will be presented with a modal to customize your offer.
- Discount Type
- You may choose either a discount in dollar amount or a percentage.
- Amount
- This is the field where you fill out how much you want to discount your product.
- Memo
- Message to be included in emails and on the offer page.
- It will be shared with Potential Buyers; it is not an internal note.
- Allow Counteroffers
- If you would like allow buyers to send a counteroffer, check this box. Use this option to jumpstart negotiations. Buyers will be able to send back
- Automatically Send Offers
- This option is checked by default.
- Enabling this option will automatically send the offer to new Potential Buyers as they become eligible.
- e.g. Listing has been up for 5 days with 5 watchers. You create a Seller Offer and it is sent to those 5 Potential Buyers. On Day 5, two more people watch your item. After watching the item for 48 hours, those two new Potential Buyers would then be sent the offer.
Once you complete the information, you will save and have the chance to review the offer before it is sent.
