Users have the ability to save their default settings for their listings to make it faster to list in the future. Every option that you would normally choose during the listing process—from details to pictures to shipping and payment methods—can be adjusted and saved to speed up your future listings.
How To Edit Listing Settings
To edit your Default Listing Settings, go to Account > Listing Preferences.
Here you will be able to customize the settings for every future listing.
Can I Still Make Changes To Individual Listings?
Yes. You can still make changes to an individual listing during the creation process.
e.g. You always only allow PayPal as an accepted payment method, but want to offer Escrow on a particular listing because it's a high-dollar item.
Any changes made during the listing process are for that listing. Default Listing Preferences are essentially a way to create a customized base template for future listings.
Do I Have to Edit My Default Preferences?
No. You do not. Only once changes are made and saved will those preferences be inherited.
Use Cases
Listing Options
By default, private users listings allow Buy It Now, but perhaps you only ever want offers from prospective buyers. This can be done by unchecking "Allow Buy It Now" and selecting "Accept Offers." This will ensure that "Allow Buy It Now" is never checked by default on your future listings.
Item Details
As a Dealer, you might like to include your company's logo and contact information in each one of your listings. Simply add those elements into the Item Details text area for it to be saved and automatically added.
Shipping
Perhaps you always ship to US & Canada, and only use a certain Carrier. This way you don't have to worry about forgetting, or having to, make those selections.
